Description
The Château Single Vineyard Shiraz 2018
Château Tanunda is known as ‘The Château’ in the Barossa and out of respect for its history spanning three centuries. These single vineyard wines are from mature vines and are made with exceptional attention to detail. The Château wines are worthy of comparison to any of the world’s great single vineyard wines and are delicious, distinctive and elegant expressions of their vineyards.
The Three Graces
Represent the union of some of the world’s noblest grape varieties: Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc and Merlot and Marsanne, Viognier and Roussanne. The wines are beautifully blended to display intensely aromatic fruit flavours. In Greek mythology ‘The Three Graces’ exemplify beauty, charm and joy.
Lifted aromas of blackberry, blueberry and black pepper supported by spicy dark berry fruits on the palate. The finish is long and framed by elegant, fine grained tannins from eighteen months maturation in new and seasoned oak.
The grapes are destemmed but not crushed and fermented for seven days in open fermenters with regular plunging and remontage.
Upon completion of fermentation, the skins are gently basket pressed before maturing for 18 months in a combination of French and American oak barrels.
This wine originates from the deep sandy loam soils of the Château Tanunda Vine Vale vineyard, famous for some of the most elegant and fine-structured expressions of Barossa Shiraz.
