Macallan 12 Year Old Fine Oak . This single malt whisky has a medium bodied palate, balanced with fruit, oak and vanilla.
The Macallan exceptional oak casks are the single greatest contributor to the outstanding quality, natural colours and distinctive aromas and flavours.
These oak casks are crafted to be their own specifications and account for up to 80% of the final aromas and flavours of The Macallan. Because of this, they spend more per cask than any other distillery in sourcing, crafting, seasoning and caring for its casks.
Nose: Nectarines, sugared almonds and vanilla toffee. Spicy oak and golden malt lend a good balance to the sweet opening notes.
Palate: Good sherried malt in here, rich and sweet with plump raisins. Developing orange peel notes. Warm oak at the core.
Finish: Quite long with vanilla and sultana.
