FOOD PAIRING : Pairs well with rich meats and cheeses accompanied, but also tasty main dishes stews, or grilled.

“Braida” was Giuseppe Bologna’s nickname, the village’s top player of the regional sport “Pallone Elastico” and founder of the winery. In 1961, Giacomo Bologna, his son, took over not only his nickname but also the vineyards. Today Raffaella and Giuseppte Bologna dedicate themselves passionately to the family business, being the third generation already.

Braida’s vineyards give home to regional grape varieties such as Brachetto, Grignoline and the famous Barbera. But you can also find international varieties like Merlot or Pinot Noir.

The family business built the brand’s flagship with the successful wine, “Bricco dell’Uccellone”. After the vinification process the Barbera grapes mature in French oak barrels, what was a pretty unusual practice in these days. Today it’s common to use French oak barrels in the world of wines. Nonetheless, Braida reached the peak with this wine and is today one of the world’s leading Italian wines.
