Castelgiocondo 2008 is a clear ruby-red colour with garnet highlights. Mature fruit emerges on the nose such as plum and blackberry with floral notes of violet. Fully evident are the spicy perfumes among which black pepper, cloves and nutmeg prevail and are followed by clean hints of flint and leather. Entry on the palate reveals a dense tannin texture, fresh and mellow, the incarnation of the classic style of the Brunello from Castelgiocondo.
Castiglioni Chianti 2012 is a clear, ruby red with violet hues and beautiful texture . Intense on the nose, complex, it is characterized by notes of black berry fruits and floral scents of rose and violet. Incredibly soft, warm, intense, Castiglioni leaves the palate with a long and persistent finish.
Giramonte appears a deep, rich purple-red, notable for its vibrancy and luminosity. In its complex aromatic array impressions of ripe fruit predominate, with raspberry and sour cherry first to emerge, followed by blackberry and dried plum. In the background are delicious toasty notes of cocoa powder, vanilla, and roast espresso bean. The palate impresses with its seductive mouthfeel, velvety texture, and spacious warmth . The tannins, fine-grained, elegant, and already well integrated into the structure, contribute to these impressions, as does a lively, crisp acidity. Its lengthy , well-balanced finish is nicely laced with aromatic fruit. Overall, Giramonte 2008 is a smooth wine that exhibits a fine balance of all of its components.
A rich ruby red charactises Lamaione 2007. The nose, displaying marked elegance, unfurls an impressive array of aromas. Impressions of fruit are first to emerge, with wild blackberry and blueberry, closely followed by clove, black pepper, and semi-sweet chocolate; concluding the medley are subtly pungent notes of eucalyptus and star anise. The wine almost explodes on entry, with a profusion of flavours and aromas closely mirroring those on the nose. Alcoholic warmth and a crisp vein of acidity are in mutual balance, while the tannins are emphatic, but fine-grained and velvety. The finish seems almost endless.
Mormoreto 2011 has a ruby-red color with violet highlights. Fruits emerge on the nose such as blueberry and black cherry, followed by hints of iodine, cinchona and balsamic notes of eucalyptus and mint. The finish offers a slight spiciness of cardamom. On the palate, the tannin texture is strong and dense, almost impenetrable. Silky and velvety, it has a rich body and a very long finish marked by hints of iodine and a balsamic character.
Nipozzano Vecchie Viti 2011 boasts a ruby-red colour, luminous and brilliant. The nose opens with very ripe fruits: cherry, strawberry and raspberry are prominent. Sweet scents of cotton candy and wild rose and notes of walnut and walnut husks . Spicy notes follow such as cloves, star anise; the finish is minerally. The palate is persistent and fresh, very smooth.
