intense ruby colour. notes of cloves, pepper, truffle, liquorice and chocolate ; vanilla, cinnamon and honey aromas ; flavours of cherries, kirsch and prunes, floral rose fragrance. a distinctive red wine ; a velvety texture, a subtle balance.
The Grande Annee blend comes only from a particularly fine harvest. When such a harvest occurs the House selects its best wines, cru by cru and grape variety by grape variety _ the key to the particular year. Each wine is individually fermented in oak casks prior to blending.
Salmon coloured with orange hues. red currant and almonds aromas followed by spicy and grilled notes ; flavours of great Burgundy Pinot Noir. surprisingly wine-like but also very lively ; aromas of cherries, or kirsch, and toasted bread.
Golden with subtle highlights. aromas of stewed ripe fruit, particularly quince, but also a discreet note of honey. These are followed by roasted notes and cocoa, which give way to flavours of star anise and nutmeg. full-bodied attack. Powerful but well-balanced, with persistent flavour. Mineral finish with touches of lemon revealing a pleasing bitterness.
